Nature plays a significant part in my practice; that’s why the designs and decoration of my current collection are based on natural forms and tulips infected with Tulip Breaking Virus. The virus infects the bulb resulting in intricate bars, stripes, featherings or flame looking effects of different colours on the petals.
To produce my ceramics I cast different coloured earthenware slip in plaster moulds. Each of my ceramic pieces is designed, hand finished and hand decorated by me. I use carving and shellac technique to produce intricate pattern and to reveal colourful layers of clay.
